Today, sustainable packaging is a must for many companies. But how do you make choices in a science-based way?<\/p>\n
For food packaging materials, there is now the CIRCOPACK<\/strong> tool. This online tool is the result of the eponymous COOCK project CIRCOPACK (2019-2022), coordinated by Pack4Food and Flanders’ FOOD and allows you to calculate the environmental impact of your food packaging.<\/p>\n Peter Ragaert<\/strong> leads the Pack4Food organisation together with An Vermeulen. He has been working at Pack4Food since 2005 specialising in bio-based and compostable plastics, barrier materials and active and intelligent packaging. He is also professor of Packaging Technology at Ghent University. Brecht Van Der Hoeven<\/strong> has been working as Junior Project Manager at Pack4Food since 2021. In this position, his responsibilities include project coordination of innovation projects such as CIRCOPACK.<\/p>\n On 29 November, they jointly presented the tool during the webinar “CIRCOPACK: first aid towards more sustainable food packaging”. <\/p>\n
